      In 1998 AZON Corporation established Ring Mesh as a division of their chain mail manufacturing company. In the very beginning AZON used Ring Mesh to sell their material in the forms of shirts and vests to customers looking for upper body protection while on the job or wherever they may have needed it. Ring Mesh slowly found that, alt hough there was a need in the protection market for their shirts, people from all over the world were contacting them in regards to using not only their shirts and vests in historical reenactment and live action role playing but also using their material in ways that many companies had yet thought of.

    Over the next seven or eight years Ring Mesh became a website that was dedicated to bringing the costuming industry the best quality and most durable chain mail on the market. Their name was being circulated in small circles within the LARP industry as a top quality chain mail that was both light and durable. Although they were not quite sure where it came from, people started to wonder if AZON Corporation was the man behind the curtain of Ring Mesh. As the material made its way into more and more people's hands Ring Mesh grew legs of its own and started in a brand new direction.

     In late 2006 Ring Mesh redesigned their website to better serve all of their customers and also increase their product offerings. They now had customers stretching from the LARP markets to the interior design and architecture markets as well as use in Navy and government projects. Chain Mail was finding uses and solving problems for people that had no idea the material even existed until they came across Ring Mesh.  

     Today Ring Mesh is not only the name of a company, but more and more people are referring to chain mail itself as ring mesh.
