I got my ringmesh vest a few days ago. It was delivered right in time as promised. The product is exactly as described in the website. It fits perfectly and it is also very light. After a few minutes you forget you are wearing it. It serves not only as a cool fashion piece of clothing but also offers a pretty good protection against stabbing. I'm truly happy with my new ringmesh vest, it is worth every penny of its price.

This shirt is exactly as pictured. I purchased this for a local LARP and rec'd the max bonus armor points for appearance and quality. There are no issues with loose rings, or the color rubbing off. Every ring is uniform in shape and size.
The weight is a big plus, it is light enough that I was able to fight in it all day. The size fit me perfectly coming down to my elbows, just past my belt line and the space left for my head made wearing it easy.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a high-quality costume, ren-faire, SCA, Amtgard, or other medieval oriented activities.

I just got this chain mail yesterday. It's super light and absolutely great looking. However, I'd suggest bumping it up a size notch (unless you are comfortable taking rings out of your new mail) if you are a larger guy. I'm 5'10" and about 230 pounds. It fits perfectly fine across the chest, around the belly (though I don't have much of a belly) but it starts getting tight in the armpits and the neck area. I've removed about 2 links from each armpit and it's getting better. I'll probably round out at about 4 links from each armpit and then a few in the neck. This is absolutely great mail and I'm so excited to have it, but if you consider yourself a burly guy, bump it up a size.

Ring Mesh Vest Review |

If you are looking for historical accuracy with this piece, you'll be disappointed due to the ring size, vest style, ect. However, if you want something to wear under your clothes (or even over them) that will serve the dual functions of making a fashion statement and protecting one's self from stab/slash wounds from a knife, then this is perfect. Due to its cunstruction, this chainmail vest is ultra low profile, so much so that those who saw me in it couldn't tell I was wearing it until they touched me! (I was wearing a t-shirt over it). I have no idea how well it would withstand a hard, determined stab, but I would rather be wearing this than just cloth. This 'ring-mesh' vest is very light weight (mine was a medium and weighed around 4lbs) and comfortable, so much so that I forgot several times that I was wearing it. It is also quite flowing when handled and very unique to the touch (I found it akin to snake skin). Overall, a great value.
